The Slack Home has recently undergone a major renovation and the home has never looked better! Now is the time to visit this unique home and experience the tranquil beauty of this one of a kind setting.
The main level of the home features a master bedroom with a king bed and private full bath. A second ½ bathroom is also located on the main floor.
The upper level of the home offers 3 bedrooms, each equipped with two twin beds, a full bathroom and another ½ bathroom. The high ceilings, unique wood floors and historic banister will remind you of days gone by when settlers first came to this part of Montana over 100 years ago.
The living room and dining area feature a large wood fireplace to provide additional warmth and ambiance while you and your group gather to dine or just to enjoy each others company. A fully equipped kitchen with modern conveniences and a full laundry room complete the main level amenities.
One of our favorite features of the home is the giant screened porch that wraps two sides of the main level. This area is a gathering place for families and friends to relax and take in the views of Teller Wildlife Refuge property and the majestic Bitterroot and Sapphire mountain ranges. A second screened porch is accessible from the kitchen and provides another terrific spot to gather and enjoy the beauty of the area.
The home is located on a huge parcel of land along with the Slack Barn, and offers large grassy areas, a horseshoe pit, a volleyball net, and giant shade trees all summer long.
The home is just minutes from the famed Bitterroot River, with a boat launch and fishing access for those of you that are looking to recreate or catch a few trout in our world class fishery.
The Slack Home is one of two historic homes located within a short walk of each other on Teller Wildlife Refuge property, so if you are looking to accommodate groups up to 14 in one area, then this is the place for you.
The Slack Home is an 1800′s original homestead located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley near the historic community of Corvallis. The home is surrounded by 880 acres of agricultural farm land and river bottom that comprise the main property of Teller Wildlife Refuge, a private wildlife refuge and conservation organization.
